Endrosements - The Angling Report
Excerpts from THE ANGLING REPORT
February 2008 Vol. 22, No. 2
“Briefly Noted” - Editors
How much of an impact is the recession having on sportfishing travel? And, equally
important, what kind of deals are lodges and outfitters making to cope with the
downturn? We are working on a report about all that, and we hope to have something
ready by next month. In the meantime, a notice we just saw on the home page of
Yellowstone Valley Ranch may
be a sign of the times. It states, in part, “…due to market conditions and other
factors, YVR will
not be open as a guest ranch for the 2009 season. While the YVR will not be able
to host you this season, we hope that if your fishing plans include a trip to
Paradise Valley, you
will avail yourself of the services of Eric
Adams and the world class
guides that have supported YVR over the years. We are confident that Adams and his crew,
operating under the name of Montana
Fly Fishing Guides, will deliver the same
quality fishing experience they did at YVR on the many waters in the Paradise
Valley area.”
At press time we contacted Adams (406-223-2488; www.MontanaFlyFishingGuides.com)
to see exactly what he plans to do. Adams, you may recall, was featured in a
2006 FREE Fishing Report we published on YVR (Look for Article No. 1905 in our
database). Adams told us he was working on several options for lodging, from
unique bed and breakfast establishments for couples to larger-occupancy rentals
for groups up to 20 people. “I’ll have several of these locations firmed up by
the time your subscribers read this. The information will be on my web
site.
Tell your subscribers to come fish with us.”
We have firmed up our lodging we highly recommend the services
at the Rivers Bend Lodge please read more about it on our Riverside
Lodging page or direct from the source at Rivers
