Guided Fly Fishing Trips - Missouri River
The
Missouri river is much different than when it was first traveled
by the Lewis and Clark expedition over 200 years ago. With the numerous
dams and reservoirs now in place of a free flowing river the river
has changed, but the majestic scenery is just as powerful. This change
hasn't been all bad, at least if you're a trout or an angler.
The Missouri river is an unbelievable home for trout below Holter Lake through the town of Craig and downstream to Cascade, Montana. This stretch of water has every possible type of fishing from dry to streamers. With one of the highest trout populations in the state of Montana - 4,000/mile - chances of having a good day on the water are high. Not only are the fish numerous, but like most tailwaters the Missouri river is abundant in aquatic bug life. Obviously making for exceptional sight and dry fly fishing.
