Tailwaters are some of the most productive waters available to fly fishers in Montana. Constant water temperatures and predicatble insect hatches make for large trout in ideal conditions. Missouri River - This is one of the premiere tail waters in the country with large numbers of trout. We use this piece of water primarily in the early and late season. If you like dry fly action this is the place to be. Madison river; the upper and lower have some spectacular hatches during
the early season with Baetis, Caddis, Salmonfly and Hoppers. Once again
we tend to use this river during the early season as it receives a large
amount of fishing pressure in the summer months. |
