MFG is a Montana fly fishing outfitter based in Livingston, Montana, which is located just north of Yellowstone National Park near many famous rivers in Paradise Valley.
We are in an area considered to be a pinnacle of fly fishing by anglers the world over. Nearly a dozen world class Montana trout fisheries are within a few miles drive. We offer a wide variety of fly fishing trips from All Inclusive Stay & Fish Packages, Private Spring Creeks, Yellowstone National Park Trips and many others.

We love sharing our knowledge of the hundreds of miles of Blue Ribbon Montana fisheries
Our home fly fishing water is the Yellowstone River, which is the longest freestone river in the country. This un-dammed river boasts the longest stretch of “blue ribbon trout stream” in the nation. With superb hatches of caddis, mayflies, stoneflies and terrestrials it’s a must on your fishing checklist. The nearby spring creeks of Armstrong, DePuy, and Nelson offer spectacular views and world class walk and wade fly fishing. Anglers from around the world travel to test wits with these selective trout. These private waters are booked years in advance, but due to our long standing relationship as a Montana fly fishing outfitter, we have a number of prime summertime rods available. Highlight of our Trip!
This was the highlight of our trip!!!!! My mother and I went to Livingston for a mother-daughter trip. Among other things we wanted to go fly fishing. Neither of us had any experience, but had watched my grandfather enjoy it over his lifetime. We wanted to connect with him, nature and learn the skill and art. Will, our guide, has his work cut out for him. He didn’t treat us like a bunch of “silly tourists.” He truly taught us the basics, we caught multiple fish, and we had the most fun, beautiful trip down the river. I know these guys will provide serious anglers a phenomenal trip, but I will be forever grateful that they were able to create an exceptional experience for two novices. It was worth every penny….it was priceless!

I have been fishing with MFGs for over a decade and would not think about using another outfitter. They are customer driven and work hard to provide you the best fishing, experience possible. Novice fisher-woman
As a novice fisher-woman, I did quite a bit of research on which guide to use during our time in Montana. We needed someone patient and who could give us the best bang for our buck for a half-day adventure & Montana Fly Fishing Guides did just that. Eric, the owner, was incredibly kind and flexible working with us when the weather didn’t cooperate for our initial schedule. He connected us with our guide, Andy, and we had a fantastic time on the beautiful Yellowstone River, catching a variety of trout and white fish.
